Time to complete: 60 minutes

A/B testing is a very powerful tool for product development. Very often it gives a competitive edge over rivals who take decisions based on vision or intuition. However, it is a very expensive and complex tool. To use it effectively product manager must know all the strengths and weaknesses.

Hi! I'm really glad you joined our team as a product manager. We could really use some help in making our startup a bit more data-driven. I've heard that you really have a passion for data-driven product development.

First let me tell you a little bit about our product.

We are building Viditation, an app that helps people meditate in a creative way. Instead of asking the user to close their eyes, we are displaying them video content that helps them to focus their attention and guides them through the process. Thus the name: Video + Meditation = Viditation.

The main hypothesis behind Viditation is that meditating with your eyes open and focused on visual clues is much more efficient for those who are doing their first steps with meditation. We see that the interest for mindfulness in general and meditation, in particular, has been growing in double digits lately. So we expect a lot of inexperienced users to enter the market in the coming months. We are going to be the app with the best activation and retention rate for users who are just starting their journey with mindfulness.
